About Paula
Salut! I’m Paula, French-born, Yorkshire-based, mum of three young wildly imaginative children, fiance to the most wonderful human on Earth and the creative brain behind Nails With Paula. My journey has been anything but straightforward. Before nails, I spent years travelling across parts of the world as a professional ice skater, performing under spotlights and loving every detail of the costumes, makeup, and artistry that came with the job. When that chapter closed, an occasional impulsive Amazon purchase one evening somehow opened a whole new opportunity.
It started small, experimenting with my own nails at home, playing with colour, and slowly falling down the rabbit hole of techniques. Dotting tools were my first steps in nail art and detail stamping became an obsession (I use it as a fine-art tool rather than a quick fix). I am self-taught I continued to find this activity more and more satisfying.
Now I design press-on nails that are modern, detailed, and unapologetically original. Made from 100% premium gel tips and salon-grade materials, my technician knowledge keeps the work safe, the results strong, my style is clean and contemporary with an edge, whether that’s in bold abstract designs, moody colour palettes, or subtle but intricate details you’ll notice every time you wear them, originality.
I have a deep love for the colour green, if there’s a green option, I’ll probably choose it. I can't live without my phone and have a weakness for all things soft or tiny. I’m neurodivergent, which means I can hyperfocus on the tiniest details until they’re just right but I also have a slightly unconventional sense of priority, which means my days can be weirdly unpredictable. I’ll sit at my desk wanting to create but I forgot I was cooking and it's time for the school run! Don't worry, it all works out eventually ;)
Fun fact? I never thought I’d be “a nail person.” I avoided pink, wasn’t into glitter, and didn’t see myself in the classic salon look. But that’s exactly why I do what I do now creating nails that aren’t basic, that reflect individuality, and that feel like art. Whether you’re wearing them for a wedding, a holiday, or just because you love how they make you feel, my goal is simple: nails that feel so you you can’t stop staring at them.
